My Home Away From Home

For some reason, I've been in love with this house since the moment I laid eyes on it.  Yeah, it's falling apart and virtually beyond saving, but I focus on the beauty in its decay whenever I'm in its presence.  There's something different about it each time I make a visit, and I can't help but dream about the beautiful home it once was to a family.

Mom was kind enough to take some shots of me.  They turned out pretty well after quite a bit of  coaching on how to work my Nikon ;)

I'm Featured on Midwest Living's Website!

I was approached last week on Instagram by Midwest Living Magazine, asking if they could feature one of my photos in a segment on their website called "20 Cleveland Instagram Photos We Love."  Of course, I said yes!  I was very excited to have one of my photos be featured in something for the first time!  I guess all those times I sat on the roof of my parking garage at work waiting for the perfect sunset/skyline pictures has paid off!  Hopefully, I can be featured in something else very soon.  Thank you so much Midwest Living Magazine!  To see all my Instagram photos, follow me @cheydiorphoto

First Time at the West Side Market (Cleveland)

After four years of living in the Cleveland area, I have finally visited the West Side Market.  I know, shameful.  It was so much more than I expected.  More colors, more hustle and bustle....and the quality of the produce astounded me!  I've never seen such beautiful fruits and veggies.  I didn't really go to buy anything, it was just something for my friend Liz and I to do on a beautiful mild fall day.  I did, however, end up buying some spectacular strawberries, blackberries, and a few avocados (my staple food item, as you will learn).  It was just so fun to explore the market, take it all in, and get a few shots with my Nikon. 

I'm Back! (Cleveland Skyline)

I obviously haven't blogged on here in FOREVER, and I have been wanting to start again on a regular basis.  I would like to take this time to ask you what you would like to see my blog about.  I welcome all suggestions/requests!  Comment below :)

To get back in the swing of things, I've decided to make a very informal post.  These are simply photos I have shot with my iPhone through the past year of the Cleveland skyline from the top of the parking garage I park in at work.  Enjoy.

This Is Home

I was on my way home from a wedding rehearsal in the rolling hills of Butler, OH today and couldn't resist pulling off to the shoulder and snapping some shots of the beautiful sunset and sun-kissed crops.  The song "Home" by Sheryl Crow came to mind as I shot (listen/view below).  The video reminds me so much of my hometown.  All four photos were shot less than 2 miles from my parents' house in Ashland, OH.
